Tips:
- If you are new to golf and are not sure what is good for you, the best place to start is by clicking on Basic Club Tips, which you can find in the submenu under Tips in the main Navigation bar. Here, you’ll find information on selecting club components, which you’ll hopefully find useful when you are putting together your first custom club.
- The FAQ’s under Tips is also a great place to start. Here, you and other visitors can actually enter in your own FAQ’s to be answered by AVEX. It is a great place to find out answers to common questions about club selection, types of clubs, or basic golf tips. If you don’t find the answer to what you are looking for, then don’t be shy, and add your question to the FAQ’s.
- Also, read through our Tip of the Month, which are usually tips that are generally geared towards beginners, but can also be good things to revisit as a conditioned golfer.
How to Order Custom Clubs:
- It is most common that people pick out a clubhead and then choose a shaft and grip that will work well with the clubhead, which is exactly how avexgolf.com is laid out. You have the option to view all of our shafts and grips by using the navigation bar at the top, but can only order shafts and grips after selecting a clubhead. So your best place to start ordering is to go to ‘Clubheads’ in the top navigation bar and select the type of club you’d like to build. (Woods, Irons, Wedges, Putters). Find item you would like to order and click on the picture or view picture and order. This will take you to a page with several questions about your golf game. It is recommended that the first time you visit Avexgolf.com, you select ‘Custom Fit’ and answer the questions for custom fitting. If you already know what it is that works for you, then when you select something other than ‘Custom Fit’, the question boxes will be grayed out and do not need to be answered.

- Shaft Type – Without the proper flex of shaft for your swingspeed, you could possibly snap graphite shafts if your swingspeed is high or not get as much distance if you use a shaft that is too stiff for your swingspeed. If you already know what type of shaft flex and stiffness you need, then you have the option to simply select that in the first dropdown box and skip the rest of the questions. If you are not quite sure, then the form asks you for the distance you hit your five iron, the direction, trajectory, and your average score. The first one, the distance you hit your five iron, is used to calculate your swing speed, and is the main element for determining the shaft flex that will be appropriate for you. The other questions are there so that our custom clubmaker, Bob Holman, can determine if there need to be any other adjustments made to your clubs and can contact you about any possible changes.
- Shaft Length – Custom fit shaft size, you can select from boxes or Custom fit. With Custom Fit we need a measurement for you Left hand wrist to the floor if you are Right Handed and Right hand wrist to the floor if you are Left Handed. It is better to use two people to do this if you want to ensure a good measurement. The person being measure need to stand in relax position with his feet shoulder with apart and his hand relaxed at his side and looking straight ahead. Next have someone measure you with a yardstick form the floor to the wrist where it bends connecting to the hand mentioned above whether your right or left handed. Please input the results from the boxes.
- Grip Size -- Now you can select for the size of grip or have it custom fit to your hand, measure with a ruler the size of you middle index finger to the bottom of you palm. Also measure the length of your middle index finger and select the results from the boxes.
The proper fit for each of these things can make you more comfortable with your stance and swing, which can really impact the quality of your game.
- Below in the next area you are to select: Right or Left Hand if available, and then the club you would like to order.
- Next press ‘Add to Cart’.
